For the 3rd year in succession, the Ian Beirne Memorial trophy was won by Scanlon's Bar. Congratulations to the lads who defeated Magic Magee's 4-2 in the final. Team was Lee McKillen, Chris Casey, John Connolly, Aaron Calpin, Noel McKenna, Johnny Kenny, Luke Brennan, Mark Grimes, Raymond Maughan & Jason Beirne.
Thanks to all to teams who participated and made it another successful tournament. The club would also like to thank Ronan, Daniel & Rachel Cox for the catering and Jenny Murtagh for the face-painting. Bouncy castles and musical entertainment was provided by Partytime DJs. Sean Kerins provided the equipment for power and the penalty shootout. Supervisors there were Mark Rhodes, Colin Kearney and Geoff Henry.
Still a few places left on the FAI summer soccer camp. (9th - 13th August) Open to boys and girls aged 6 to 14. Check out www.fai.ie or call 1890 653 653. Alternatively, Johnny Greenan (Main St) may be able to assist you.
The new season kicks off on August 14th. Most Boyle Celtic seniors home games will be on Saturday night this season. Sean Kerins takes over at the helm. We have also re-entered a reserve side in Division 1 and Kevin Mullen will be the manager there. Realboyle's soccer correspondent will be on double time this season now we have an extra team.
