Many thanks to Zipit

Boyle Celtic would like to thank everyone at Zipit Forest Adventures in Lough Key Forest Park for very kindly sponsoring a new playing kit for both our Senior and Reserve Teams.

The new kit was worn for the recent Reserves match against Calry Bohs and was presented to Club Chairman, Paddy McLoughlin, beforehand by Chris Beattie, Zipit's Operations Manager.

Everyone involved with Boyle Celtic would like to wish Zipit the very best as they prepare for their second year in business.

Seniors Stay Top in Style

The first team travelled to the pitch at Sligo IT, Ballinode to take on Ballisodare Utd last Friday and really turned on the style.

In a convincing 7nil victory, Lee McKillen notched a hat-trick, Michael Corrigan scored a brace and Luka Roddy and Aaron Calpin added one each. The result leaves Boyle 5 points clear at the top of the SuperLeague, although second-placed City Utd have two games in hand - all to play for...

The lads have no match this weekend, a chance to recharge the batteries before the final push to the title!!

Reserves' Title Hopes take a hit

The Reserves played Real Tubber in Boyle last Friday as the fixture was switched from Tubbercurry. Unfortunately, this went against the "home" team and they went down 3nil to put a massive dent in their title hopes.

They can get back on track on Sunday when they take on Calry Bohs, again at Celtic Park, with the match kicking off at 11am - all support is greatly appreciated.

Still in pole position

Boyle Celtic remain top of the SuperLeague following their 2-1 win away to Coolera Rovers last Sunday.

Goals from Dessie Carlos, just after half time, and James Carty just before the end secured the victory to ensure the lads stay in pole position.

They are next in action on Sligo IT’s pitch in Ballinode on Friday night, kick-off 7.30pm, when they take on Ballisodare Utd – all support would be very welcome.

Keeping it going

The Reserves won a thrilling contest 4-3 against Ballygawley Celtic with Dermot Beggan notching a hat-trick. They were leading 3-1 before Ballygawley pegged them back to 3-3 and thought they had won a point before Beggan, once again (22nd league goal this season), put it in the onion bag to steal the spoils!!

They are second in their league and play Real Tubber on Sunday at 11am – again, all support is most welcome.

The Grange Players - The Field

Boyle Celtic FC would like to wish The Grange Players all the very best as they present John B Keane’s The Field in St Joseph’s Hall this Saturday (10th March) at 8pm.

They have very kindly offered to host a raffle with all proceeds going to Boyle Celtic FC – in the old theatre tradition, we respectfully hope that you break a leg!

League Title challenge is on....

A mighty well done to our first team who ran out 9-0 winners over Strand Celtic last Saturday night to keep their SuperLeague title hopes firmly alive.

Hat-tricks from Michael Corrigan and Lee McKillen, two from Luka Roddy and one from James Carty saw the lads maintain their lead at the top of the SuperLeague. At this stage, it looks like a shoot-out between Boyle, City Utd and Carbury for the title - the lads are next in action on Sunday morning away to Coolera Rovers. We wish them the very best.

The Reserves' challenge has hit the buffers in the last couple of weeks - they had done remarkably well to be top of their league but a few defeats have knocked their confidence and they have slipped to second - but the season isn't over yet. The lads can get back on track in Saturday night's match at home to Ballygawley Celtic, kick-off at 7.45pm, and, again, we wish them all the very best.

Committee Meeting

There is a Committee Meeting tonight, Tuesday 6th, at 9.30pm in The Patrick's Well - please let Richard (086 8323322) know if you cannot make it.

Condolences to the Smith family

Boyle Celtic FC offers our sincere condolences to the Smith family following the death last week of Rita - may she rest in peace.
