Well Beaten Yeats !

Boyle Celtic appear to have emerged from their mini slump with a very convincing win over Yeats United in Carney village last Sunday. Goals from Michael Corrigan, Brian McCrann and Noel McKenna seeing off the challenge of the sligo men in a fairly comfortable game for the Boyle side. The first half did not produce any goals but it did contain some nice football, mainly from Boyle. Yeats did contribute some good passages of play but offered very little in the final third. Kyle Suffin in the Boyle goal had little to do but claimed comfortably when Yeats got the ball into the box.

Celtic attacked with much more purpose in the second half and a deflected shot fell to Michael Corrigan who slotted home. Yeats were forced to push out for an equaliser but this only left more space for Corrigan and Calpin to exploit. Good work down the left by both, created enough room for Brian McCrann to shoot from outside the area, making it two nil. Yeats were a spent force now and it was a surprise that Celtic only added one more. Sub Johnny Dwyer, swung in a very dangerous corner and an un-marked Noel McKenna made no mistake from 6 yards. Dwyer prodded through a couple of sweet passes after that but John Connolly and Michael McHale failed to finish.

Next Sunday, Super League action again and Coolera Rovers come to Boyle. Every effort is being made to have this game played under lights on Saturday night. More news on this later in the week.
