WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS....

Dreams can come true...a huge well done and congratulations to Boyle Celtic who, after an 8-0 win over Real Tubber, have been crowned the Sligo Southern Hotel Sligo/Leitrim SuperLeague Champions for 2013/14 - for the first time since 2001.

Well done Gerry and all the lads, enjoy the moment...and many thanks for all the support that spurred them on to this momentous triumph after three years of going so close.

Sunday's planned final match against Cartron has been called off - the Champions are next in action in the Champions Cup on Wednesday 4th when they travel to take on Merville Utd, kick-off at 7pm.

STOP PRESS - REAL TUBBER V BOYLE CELTIC FRI 30 MAY

CHANGE OF VENUE

The Real Tubber v Boyle Celtic SuperLeague match on Friday 30th May will now take place in Celtic Park, Boyle with kick-off at 8pm.

Should Boyle win, and become SuperLeague Champions, the trophy will be presented after the match.

All support is very welcome and most appreciated.

On the brink...

Boyle Celtic are on the brink of being crowned this season's Sligo / Leitrim SuperLeague champions after last night's 4-2 victory over Calry Bohs.

Two goals from the league's top-scorer, Niall Brennan, and one each from Lee McKillen and Lochlainn Conboy saw Boyle ease into a 4-0 lead, only to be pegged back by two goals in quick succession, one of them an unfortunate own goal. They held on to win out 4-2 whilst title-rivals City Utd won their last match of the season 3-2 against Ballymote Celtic.

City have now completed their league programme and sit on 59 points - two ahead of Boyle Celtic on 57, but, Boyle still have two matches to play - away to Real Tubber on Friday 30th (k.o. 7pm) and home to Cartron Utd on Sunday 1st (k.o. 11am) - and one win will see the title make its way to Boyle for the first time since 2001.

All support for these two matches is very much appreciated - and very best wishes to Gerry and the lads...

And then there were 3...

Boyle Celtic are now just 3 matches, (6 points) from title glory after defeating Real Tubber 3-0 last night. City Utd, their only title rivals, also won by the same margin and currently head the table on 56 points with only 1 match left to play - meaning a maximum points total of 59.

Boyle currently lie 2 points back on 54 but with 3 matches left can reach 63, but 2 wins from those 3 matches will realise 60 points and this year's SuperLeague title.

They are in Cup semi-final action tomorrow when they travel to Strand Celtic for an 11am kick-off and are back in League action on Wednesday when they entertain Calry Bohs at 7pm.

All support at this very exciting time of the season is most welcome...

Four to go...

Following Wednesday night's emphatic 5-0 victory over local rivals Carrick Town, Boyle Celtic are now four games from title glory...they need 9 points from their remaining 4 matches to be crowned the Sligo/Leitrim SuperLeague Champions for the first time since 2001.

The first of those 4 matches takes place tonight, Friday 23rd, against Real Tubber in Celtic Park with kick-off at 7pm - why not come on down and push the lads on in their search of glory.

This begins a hectic spell for the squad with 5 games in the next 10 days, the other matches being:-

  • Cup semi-final on Sunday 25th (11am) away to Strand Celtic
  • League match on Wednesday 28th (7pm) home to Calry Bohs
  • League match on Friday 30th (7pm) away to Real Tubber
  • Final League match on Sunday 1st June (11am) home to Cartron Utd
We wish Gerry and the lads all the very best - we know you can do it...

U12s are League Champions

Many congratulations to our U12s who became League Champions with a 1-0 victory over Ballymote Celtic last night.

A massive well done to all our U12 players and to the coaches - Eamon, Len, Michael and Doug. Let's hope it's the first of many trophies for this talented bunch!!

Sunday 11 May 2014

Title Charge continues

Well done to the seniors who triumphed 4-1 over near-neighbours Aughanagh Celtic in the latest match of their SuperLeague title charge. Technically an away game, Aughanagh gave up home advantage to facilitate the match going ahead and Lee McKillen took full advantage, notching a hat-trick that puts Boyle on the coat-tails of league leaders City Utd and with games in hand.

Next up is a trip to Strand Celtic on Wednesday 14th with kick-off at 7.15pm - best of luck, lads...

Commiserations to U16s

Commiserations to our U16s who gallantly lost the League Plate final last week 6-5 after an epic battle against Ballymote Celtic. They had made the final after a 3-2 semi-final victory over Merville Utd earlier in the week and just came up short in the final but it was a great effort to get that far and to go that far in the final!!

Many thanks to Joe Magee, Johnny Dwyer and all involved in preparing and looking after the squad and well done lads!

U12s in League Final Action

The match will kick off at 7pm but the venue is still to be confirmed.

Congrats to Eamon, Len, Michael & Doug on the great job they have done with both U12 teams this season - and let's hope we hear the sound of car horns on Monday night to signal the return of the U12 league title to Boyle. Best of luck, lads!!

League Title challenge still on track

Following Wednesday night's narrow victory over St John's, Boyle face another difficult task in their challenge for this season's SuperLeague title with a local derby against Aughanagh Celtic on Sunday morning (11th May), kick-off 11am. All support for the lads is most welcome.
