Congratulations to Brian McCrann who has been selected in the preliminary squad of 30 for the Republic of Ireland Amateur team which will take part in the upcoming Umbro Quadrangular Trophy in Limerick – the 30 will be whittled down to 20 by 14th September so the very best wishes of everyone at Boyle Celtic go to Brian for the next few weeks.

Boyle Celtic Youth Registration Night - Tomorrow, Tue 27th Aug ***IMPORTANT***

A further Boyle Celtic Youth Registration Night is being held tomorrow night, Tuesday 27th August, from 7.30pm to 8.30pm in the Clubhouse for all underage players.

***IMPORTANT*** With matches this weekend, it is vital that players are registered tonight otherwise they will not be able to play and, without sufficient players, matches will be forfeited.

New players are very welcome, please bring along a copy of your birth certificate for the league. Registration is covered by signing up to our Monthly Draw at €10 / month and covers all costs – league registration, insurance, training & referees’ match fees.

Boyle Celtic to Croke Patrick Challenge

The Boyle Celtic to Croke Patrick Challenge takes place on Saturday 14^th September 2o13 with members of Boyle Celtic cycling approximately 100km from Celtic Park to the base of Croke Patrick and then climbing the famous mountain, all in one day!!! 

Our intrepid explorers are getting, or trying to get (!), in shape for this momentous challenge which is a fundraiser for the Club. 

Sponsorship, no matter how big or small, is greatly welcomed and cards are available around town or from Boyle Celtic players – there will be a draw for a tablet pc for all cards returned by our underage players. 

All support is much appreciated.

Boyle Celtic Youth Registration Night - TONIGHT, Tue 20th Aug

A further Boyle Celtic Youth Registration Night is being held TONIGHT, Tuesday 20^th August, from 7.30pm to 8.30pm in the Clubhouse for all underage players. 

New players are very welcome, please bring along a copy of your birth certificate for the league. 

This year, to try and minimise costs to parents and to make running the teams easier for our managers, registration will be covered by signing a standing order to join our Monthly Draw at €10 / month.

This will cover all costs:– 

League registration / insurance - €50

Training (estimate 30 sessions @ €2) - €60

Referees’ match fees (estimate 15 matches @ €2) - €30

Total estimated costs - €140

Total cost of monthly draw - €120 - saving €20+ and the chance to win monthly prizes of €200, €100 & €50

This will also mean our managers no longer have to collect the €2 fee at every training session nor the €2 fee for the referee before each match. As a result, they will no longer have to keep track of who has paid etc, thus allowing more time at each training session for actual football and not paperwork, and they will avoid the hassle of keeping track of the monies and banking it on a regular basis.

Signing up to the standing order is our preference but if you would prefer not to do so, for whatever reason, please approach the manager or registrar on registration night. 

Condolences

Boyle Celtic FC extends deepest sympathies to the Browne and Cooney families following the recent deaths of former Boyle Celtic great Donal Browne, formerly of St Patrick Street, and Baby Cooney, Mockmoyne - may they rest in peace.

Fair Play Award for Boyle Celtic FC

Many congratulations to everyone involved in the 2012 / 13 season of Boyle Celtic's underage teams - they picked up the Fair Play award at last night's Sligo / Leitrim Youth League's fixture meeting in The Glasshouse Hotel, Sligo.

This is a great reflection on the management teams, players and supporters and is a ringing endorsement for Boyle Celtic as a club - well done to you all!!

Ian Beirne Memorial 7-a-side tournament

The Ian Beirne Memorial 7-a-side tournament ran very successfully and was actually two tournaments with the inaugural veterans (over35s) competition running in conjunction with the main event.

Many thanks to all those who entered, all the supporters who cheered everyone on, Denis Dodd for providing his Lounge Bar for the presentation and our intrepid referees, Owen, Eddie & Sean.

Congratulations to the Alley Bar team who ran out winners of the main event.

Well done to both the Over 30s and the Legends who shared the veterans title after a 1-1 draw in the final and then an 8-8 draw in the penalty shoot-out with a 100% success rate!!
